Registered Manager - Bluebells

Role Responsibility

Bluebells offers overnight residential opportunities for disabled children from the age of 5 to 18 years old. Our aim is to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for every child which promotes their physical and emotional well-being within appropriate boundaries.

You will be responsible for the day to day management of the home including staff rotas, staff training and development, finance, and all health and safety matters. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the unit operates in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted’s Social Care Common Inspection Framework.

Working closely with parents, social workers, and other professionals, you will be responsible for ensuring that all statutory requirements relating to childcare practice and safeguarding are adhered to, and the home promotes the welfare, wellbeing and safety of each individual child. 

You will need to hold or be working towards the ‘Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health, Social Care and children and young people’s services’ and have experience of working with children with disabilities.

In return, you will be provided with a rolling programme of specialist training and be offered regular supervision to enable you to confidently progress in your career.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
