Do You have what it takes to deliver the National Feed Programme across the South East?

We are offering an exciting opportunity to recruit a self-motivated, fully feed qualified Trading Standards Officer to help us deliver the National Feed Programme across the South East.

In this unique role, you will be planning and co-ordinating feed visits, assisting the 16 Trading Standards South East (TSSE) Services to carry out their annually targeted inspections of feed premises, auditing, sampling, advising and any necessary follow up work. This provides you with the opportunity to experience different locations, businesses, and people across the South East, which provides a significant career development opportunity.

You will be employed in this part time role by Kent County Council, which offers significant benefits including:

  • Remote and flexible working,
  • Paid Chartered Trading Standards Institute membership,
  • A commitment to continual professional development and training ensuring that 20 hours annual CPPD can be maintained for feed competence.
  • Support from the dedicated Compliance Food Chain Team

We are looking for an experienced Trading Standards Officer with excellent communication and IT skills, holding the DCATS, DCA, DTS (or equivalent) qualification, which must include the feed paper, who can travel across the Region as needed, carry out high quality feed inspections, interpreting legislation, and conducting follow up action.
