Referrals and Matching Officer

Role Responsibility

We are looking for a motivated and person-centred thinking person to join us in Kent Shared Lives as our Referrals and Matching Officer. Kent Shared Lives is a Care Quality Commission (CQC) Regulated Service that provides Individuals the opportunity to stay in the homes of recruited, trained, and approved Hosts and their Families in order to lead more independent, fulfilling lives in the community. 

Your primary Role will be the managing of Referrals coming into the Service from Social Care Teams by identifying good matches with suitable Hosts as appropriate and working closely with other Shared Lives Staff to progress placements and ensuring systems are up to date.

You may also need to manage Short Notice Placement Requests and be able to identify potential Safeguarding Issues. You will represent the Service along with our Recruiting and Marketing Officer to other Professionals and may also attend Meetings and other Professional Forums.

You will have some experience of working with People who have been supported by Social Care, possess effective communication and IT Skills and be used to working within a busy Team but also managing your own workload with a degree of autonomy. You will be responsive to changing priorities, have a can do attitude and have high aspirations for vulnerable people, seeking the best possible outcomes for individuals at every opportunity.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and a qualification of Diploma/NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care or above.

Interviews will be conducted under the ‘Choosing with Care’ assessment process.  Invited candidates will be required to attend a full day which will include the Formal Interview as well as Written Testing, Profiling and a Discussion Group.
