Purchasing Officer

Role Responsibility

The Adults Purchasing Team have a fixed term opportunity for a full time Purchasing Officer for 12 months.

 

You will be required to purchase Care and Support in the Home services for vulnerable adults (following KCC purchasing protocols).  The main service being Supporting Independence Service (SIS).

 

You will be involved in repurchasing care packages on the system in line with changes to contracts.

 

You will be working to support all Adult Social Services, with the main focus on the Learning Disability and Mental Health teams.

You will need to have good IT and organisational skills and be able to input information accurately and efficiently on excel, client systems and on other databases.  You will also be required to problem solve. You will need excellent communication skills and be able to work with a range of people at all levels. Experience of working with vulnerable adults would be helpful in this post but not essential.

 

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
