Purchasing Assistant

Role Responsibility

This is a permanent full time position working within the Community Care Purchasing team which is part of the Business Delivery Unit. The position is advertised as Invicta House, Maidstone but will be working from home.  It is an exciting role for a confident, proactive and positive individual, working as an integral part of Adult Social Care, assisting adults with physical disabilities and older people.

The role will involve a wide range of purchasing community care tasks, requiring excellent administration, organisational and communication skills. You will be able to deal with issues of a confidential and sensitive nature appropriately. You will be confident in communicating with domiciliary care agencies, staff, managers and professionals, and prioritise your work.

You will provide an administrative support service to the Purchasing Team, assisting in the smooth running of the service and undertaking all relevant administrative duties as required. You will act as a first point of contact for the purchasing function, directing and answering queries as appropriate.

You will have excellent IT skills as tasks include inputting, invoice handling, updating, modifying and retrieving data on systems and running reports. The ability to problem-solve is essential as there is a need to investigate and resolve payment queries.

You will be confident, flexible, able to work well within a busy team and prioritise your workload. You will be able to travel around the county in a timely manner if required.

Full induction and training will be given.
