Purchasing Assistant Apprentice

Fixed Term: 12 Months
An exciting opportunity in Community Care Purchasing, part of Access to Resources for Older People and Physical Disabilities has arisen, for a highly motivated Apprentice.
We will support you, over a 12-month placement period, to achieve a Business Administration Level 2 Intermediate qualification to enable you to develop administration skills, customer-handling skills, technical and practical skills, oral communication skills and IT skills.
This apprenticeship post is based at Sessions House, Maidstone (Currently Working from Home). You will be part of a small team and assist in providing a comprehensive level of support to your colleagues in Community Care Purchasing.
The role will involve a wide range of purchasing community care tasks with opportunities to develop, administration, organisational and communication skills. You will gain experience in dealing with issues of a confidential and sensitive nature appropriately. There are also opportunities to build on your confidence through communicating with domiciliary care agencies, staff, managers and professionals, as you develop skills in prioritisation of your work.
You will provide an administrative support service to the Purchasing Team, assisting in the smooth running of the service and undertaking all relevant administrative duties as required. You will act as a first point of contact for the purchasing function, directing and answering queries as appropriate.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position.
