Public Health and Social Care Innovation and Prevention Manager

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Role Responsibility

Do you want to be at the heart of transformative health improvement work to maximise quality of life for Kent residents and prevent, delay or reduce their need for social care in the future?

Do you want to be part of an innovative, multi-disciplinary team working across adult social care and public health?

This job is one-of-a kind and a chance for you to make a lasting impact, using your knowledge of adult social care alongside your public health skills.

You might be a Public Health officer, a programme manager or a social care practitioner at the moment.  The more important thing is you must have a passion for innovation and making ideas a reality.  We need someone who can help make our approach to prevention systematic, prioritising those activities which will have the greatest impact on maximising independence and wellbeing and reducing the population need for social care.  We need to know which activities work best and should be scaled so you must be data and research savvy.

Strengthening community resilience and partnerships is one of the focus areas in the ‘Making a difference everyday’ Kent Adult Social Care strategy (2022-2027).  The core purpose outlined in this strategy is supporting people to lead the lives they want to live, and in a place, they call home, by putting people at the heart of everything we do.  Promoting an individual’s wellbeing, preventing, reducing or delaying the development of the need for care and support is core to Kent’s way of working, in line with the Care Act and adhering to assurance frameworks that promote a strengths based approach to prevention.

About the Team

The newly formed Innovation and Partnerships Division is set to transform our approach to care in Kent. This division will spearhead innovation, foster external partnerships, and explore new funding avenues to keep adult social care at the cutting edge. And ensure the voices of those we serve into the heart of our decision-making processes. You can find about more about the team by viewing this animation.
