Public Health Information Officer

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Public Health Observatory at Kent County Council as a Public Health Information Officer.

The Public Health Information Officer will extract and prepare datasets and provide important analytical input into the process of understanding the population health needs of Kent. They will collaborate with other analysts and information officers within the team and support senior analysts across a broad range of work areas including health needs assessments, annual public health reports and data retrieval and maintenance.

The post requires excellent numeracy and good written English skills. You will have an understanding of public health issues and experience of working with detailed record level data sets such as health and care records. The successful candidate is likely to have a quantitative background with a willingness to learn.

Please note that while some homeworking is possible, you will be expected to work from our Maidstone office 1-2 days per week.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
