Public Health Information Officer

Role Responsibility

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the Public Health Observatory at Kent County Council.

The Public Health Information Officer provides important analytical support to better understand health needs in Kent, address health inequalities, and determine priorities for action. They support Senior Analysts and collaborate with the public health department across a broad range of work areas. For example, health needs assessments, programme evaluations, dataset management, presentation design, and website maintenance.

The post requires excellent numeracy and good written English skills. The ideal candidate will have experience of analysing complex datasets with an understanding of public health issues. This role is an ideal first step for those interested in pursuing a career in analytics and public health.

We provide a comprehensive training offer and encourage a supportive learning environment to share knowledge between team members. We continually innovate and improve. For example, the team creates reproducible analysis using programming languages such as R, SQL and Power BI for data visualisation.
