Project and Engagement Officer
Role Responsibility
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Project and Engagement Officers to join Kent County Council’s Financial Hardship Programme, funded by the Helping Hands Scheme.
These are full-time, fixed-term positions for 12 months, working in a hybrid format, with the base being Invicta House, Maidstone. As a team we are committed to providing a flexible approach to when, where and how our team work. Travel around the county will be required to attend partner and community events to support the delivery and collaboration of projects.
The Financial Hardship Programme delivers a range of projects aimed at tackling hardship in the county, this includes; food and fuel poverty, digital exclusion, debt advice, strengthening referrals and local business and skills provision.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues within KCC and external partners, leveraging your project management expertise to support Project Managers. Your role will involve ensuring that all projects are delivered efficiently, adhering to an effective communications strategy, and meeting the required standards within agreed deadlines.
We are looking for someone with an organised and proactive approach, who would like to make a positive impact to Kent residents. Effective communication is essential for this role, involving regular interactions with residents and key stakeholders. Additionally, the role includes community engagement through events, workshops, and providing support to residents.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position.
