Virtual School Kent (VSK) champions the needs of young people in care, those who have care experience, and those whose families have been supported by a social worker. VSK supports young people and their network, working collectively to enable these young people to achieve and contribute positively to communities now and in the future. We are a diverse and rapidly developing organisation who value our children’s voices and identities in shaping our policies and services.

What are we looking for?

A person who is :-

- able to provide professional support to the Virtual School Kent with a focus on undertaking project activities, organising training and working strategically to help meet service needs.

- committed to helping VSK deliver its core business in effectively supporting children in care, previously looked after children, children with a social worker and those in formal kinship care.

- motivated, supportive and has inclusion at the heart of what they do

- flexible and adaptive to the different needs of our service in supporting children and young people

- a good communicator 

- organised and able to work on their own initiative

This is a Fixed Term Full Time Contract until 1st April 2026.  The post is countywide but will be based at Worrall House in Kings Hill. 

There is an expectation that the post holder will attend meetings in different KCC offices across the county, so the ability to travel across the area in a timely and flexible manner is essential.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
