Project Officer (Skills Bootcamps)

Role Responsibility

Are you an experienced project officer with a passion for helping people up skill and succeed in employment?

Kent County Council’s Economy Team is managing a new government programme called Skills Bootcamps which aims to help individuals up skill or re-skill to improve their career prospects and meet the needs of the local job market.

We are looking for an experienced project officer to use their project management expertise to lead the day-to-day operations of the Kent & Medway Skills Bootcamps DfE programme, ensuring its smooth, compliant, and efficient delivery. They will secure and utilise external funding, support procurement processes, and act as the first point of contact for enquiries from service providers, referral partners, employers, and potential beneficiaries.

The postholder will report directly to programme manager for Skills Bootcamps and be responsible for coordinating the day to day delivery of all project activities and working with a range of local partners, stakeholders, and employers to promote and support programme implementation.

The postholder will collate necessary reporting and financial information, produce regular progress reports, and monitor programme performance. They will implement the programme communication plan, represent the programme at external meetings and events, and ensure adherence to relevant policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

The post will be based in Maidstone with hybrid / remote working but there will be a requirement to travel throughout the county regularly to meet with partners, training providers and programme beneficiaries.
