Project Officer (Provider Liaison and Contract Management)

Role Responsibility

Are you experienced in performance management, quality and compliance, with a passion for helping organisations support people into work and succeed in employment? Do you have a sound knowledge of supported employment and barriers to accessing the labour market?

Kent County Council’s Economy Team is managing the government’s new Connect to Work programme which aims to help people with long-term health conditions or disabilities and other disadvantaged groups to access employment and stay and succeed in work.

We are looking for a Principal Project Officer who will work closely with the Programme Manager (Skills and Employment), and other Project Officers, to oversee specific areas of this high profile programme in Kent & Medway. This exciting role will involve working directly with a supply chain of delivery partners to ensure Connect to Work targets are met.

The post holder will need to have experience working to and holding others accountable for performance KPIs. To do this, you will have experience using Management Informattion and spreadsheets to manipulate and explain data to stakeholders and hold them accountable, setting actions and celebrating successes.

Experience in detailed compliance regulations is essential, as is the eye for detail to notice and explore compliance, quality and performance. The role will require excellent communication and relationship building skills as you will be working with delivery partners front line staff up to senior management level, sometimes delivering challenging messages.

The postholder will report directly into the Programme Manager and will provide regular updates to the wider economy team, they will be able to demonstrate an ability to liaise with senior stakeholders, motivate and support remote teams, manage complex workloads and make use of exceptional planning and organisational skills, writing reports and presentations.

The post will be based in Maidstone with some remote working but regular travel around Kent and Medway to meet partners and participants and observe delivery is a key part of the role so you should enjoy getting our and about and meeting people.

In the early stages of the role, the post holder will be supporting the Programme Manager with the implementation phase of the programme this will involve digesting detailed government documents and helping to bring content to life for delivery. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with operational experience, to get involved in shaping processes for service design and project management.
