Programme Officer - Refugee Response

Role Responsibility

Temporary for up to 12 months. For internal applicants this role would be a Secondment opportunity. 

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to fill the role of Programme Officer to primarily support KCC’s Ukraine Refugee response within the Strategic & Corporate Services - Strategy, Policy, Relationships and Corporate Assurance (ST- SPRCA) Division. The role is a flexible role with a designated work base at Sessions House Maidstone.

This newly created role will work closely with the Programme Coordinator to ensure that supporting systems are in place to underpin KCC’s Ukraine response.

With a particular focus on overseeing data entry and maintaining high-quality records you will drive the programme forward through the development and coordination of robust systems and processes. 

You will be comfortable pragmatically utilising project management methodologies, identifying project risk, dependencies, and prioritising key deliverables to ensure that the Programme is delivered effectively.

You will lead on and facilitate engagement with stakeholders, liaising with senior colleagues both within Kent County Council and externally with our partner organisations to ensure appropriate and relevant input to the programme, regularly representing Kent County Council.

You will need to have experience of working in the Local Government sector and experience of analysing complex data and knowledge of projects relating to the public sector or the Voluntary & Community Sector. Sound knowledge of Kent County Council’s structure, services offered and understanding of responding to emergency situations would be an advantage.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This role is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Interviews are scheduled to take place week commencing 18 July 2022, although this may be subject to change.
