Principle Planning for Health Officer

Role Responsibility

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, forward-thinking individual for an exciting new challenge, collaboratively working with our Strategic Planning and Infrastructure Service, Kent County Council Public Health and Active Kent and Medway. 

This is a dynamic, collaborative and fantastic role for someone wishing to progress within the planning and/or public health field.

The new Principal Planning for Health Officer role will build relationships with key stakeholders to provide advocacy and influence that ensures places and spaces in Kent are well designed, sustainable and positively impact on the health and wellbeing of communities.

If you have the ability to see the long-term picture, with the ambition, energy and vision to make a real contribution to the delivery of our objectives, this could be the role for you.

Main responsibilities include play a leading role in liaising with external partners, developing a strategic vision around planning for health in Kent, influencing planning policy, planning decisions, sharing evidence, best practice, data and intelligence and developing, designing and implementing procedures to review and respond to planning

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Contract: Fixed Term, Full Time to 31st March 2027

Location(s):  Invicta House, Maidstone, (travel required throughout Kent) 
NB: Hybrid working re: office and home working.
