Practice Development Manager

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Practice Development Manager to work closely with the Principal Social Worker and Principal Occupational Therapist in leading the delivery and development of high-quality social work and social preventative, strength-based relational practice across the Adults Social Care and Health (ASCH) Directorate.

This role also involves supporting the development of Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSW) and Social Work Students, ensuring they are provided with a breadth of opportunities to develop while feeling supported throughout their journey.

As a key member of the management team, you will collaborate closely with the Policy and Quality Assurance Team and the Strategic Safeguarding Unit to embed the Quality Assurance Framework and influence organisational changes related to policy and legislation.

In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering the "Making a Difference Every Day" strategy and embedding the Adults Practice Framework. You will work effectively in partnership with others to develop corporate solutions to achieve the best outcomes for the adults and families we serve.

You will be a welcome addition to the team if you are passionate about social work practice and supporting the people of Kent to live as full and safe a life as possible.

You will need to have extensive post-qualification experience of front-line social work practice and hold excellent people management skills. You will have a recognised social work qualification and current registration with Social Work England.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England. 

As part of the interview process for this role you may be required to complete additional testing.

Location: Countywide role with an office base in Maidstone.
