Do you want to be instrumental in delivering a service that will make a difference to the lives of our some of our most vulnerable children and young adults? If you do, this is an exciting opportunity to join the Total Placement Service (TPS) in our work finding homes for our children in care and care leavers.

TPS is a key element of the children’s services strategy to meet the authority’s sufficiency duty in ensuring that homes for children, young people and adults provide stability, meet their individual needs, and help them to achieve their aspirations. If successful, you will be part of a diverse team, receiving regular supervision to aid your professional development along with a range of training opportunities.

The post is varied and interesting providing specialist advice and support on a variety of home options, resolving some complex issues, collaborating with colleagues in children’s social care and commissioning and managing liaison between key stakeholders. To be eligible for the post you will need to possess the following skills/experience:

  • Highly motivated, excellent organisational, administration and communication skills and an eye for detail;
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and targets, prioritise and plan your work effectively;
  • Good negotiation skills and high level of interpersonal and communication skills at all levels;
  • Excellent knowledge of IT systems including Excel, Word and Outlook;
  • Awareness of Data Protection and confidentiality issues.

Kent County Council is committed to a hybrid working model with a flexible working offer. Please note regular attendance to work from our Maidstone office will be required.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
