Personal Assistant to Director of Public Health

Role Responsibility

We have an exciting opportunity that have arisen for a professional Personal Assistant to provide a comprehensive high level administrative support to the Director of Public Health to ensure the effective delivery in their role.

As part of this role, you will be working alongside Public Health’s Senior Business Officer and administration team who support the whole Public Health Division.

As well as the experience, skills and knowledge outlined in the person specification, applicants should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • positive, resilient and proactive in your approach to work
  • highly organised with an excellent attention to detail
  • an excellent communicator, both in writing and over the telephone
  • computer literate in a range of Microsoft Office packages
  • able to work confidently to ensure deadlines are met
  • able to exercise total confidentiality and the highest degree of tact and diplomacy in dealings with external stakeholders, senior officers, service users and staff, at times involving complex matters
  • experienced in minuting meetings
  • Experienced in diary management
  • able to use your own initiative, knowledge, and experience to arrive at appropriate solutions to problems

The environment can be fast-paced and demanding; the successful candidate will be someone who can also work successfully on their own projects as well as able to work well in a team.  You will need to be able to demonstrate that you are self-motivated and a self-starter.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
