Permanent Relief Shift Leader

Role Responsibility

Bluebells Short Breaks Unit provides overnight residential opportunities for children and young people with disabilities from the age of five to eighteen years old. 

Working in a 'Good' team (Ofsted, January 2020) we are looking for individuals who can be flexible in their approach, are able to work collaboratively and share our commitment to improving outcomes for children. You will be required to lead shifts and work as a member of a team providing a nurturing and safe environment which promotes the emotional and physical well-being of the children and young people accessing overnight residential short breaks.

The job requires the ability to co-ordinate shift plans, ensure accurate record keeping (quality assurance) and liaise with external professionals while monitoring standards of care. You will need to hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and need to have experience of working with children and young people in a residential setting. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures and be able to take personal and professional responsibility for your actions and performance. In return, you will be provided with a rolling programme of specialist training and be offered regular supervision to enable you to confidently progress in your career.

You will be required to work on an ‘as and when’ basis in agreement with the Registered Manager.

Interviews will be conducted under the ‘Choosing with Care’ assessment process.
