Permanent Relief Senior Residential Worker

Role Responsibility

An exciting new opportunity in Kent County Council has arisen to join the team working in The Nest, which is a small 3 bedded residential unit offering support to individuals aged 13-18 with behaviours that challenge. The unit offers that support in a time limited assessment period, to stabilise the situation and work with families and professionals to create PBS strategies, to allow the person to return home successfully.

The applicant will need to have a Level 3 Diploma in Care or equivalent.

Staff will work as part of a team supporting individuals and contributing to support plans, which can effect changes to behaviour.

Staff will work as and when required to support a shift pattern, which includes alternate weekends and sleep-in duties.

Applicants should have experience of supporting individuals with challenging behaviours or experience of positive behavioural programming.

Applicants should have experience of working with learning disabled adults or children.

Interviews will be conducted under the ‘Choosing with Care’ assessment process

The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
