Permanent Relief OOH's Experienced Social Worker
Role Responsibility
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Front Door Service, and we are seeking to recruit to our highly motivated, friendly and supportive Out of Hours team a permanent relief (Sessional) cohort of staff.
The Out of Hours Service provides essential and urgent Social Work cover for children and adults across Kent and Medway.
Our valued sessional staff provide vital support to the service and we are seeking to recruit qualified, experienced social workers who have skills and experience within children’s social work services including child protection, and who have the availability to work outside of standard office hours, mainly at weekends.
The successful candidates will need to have extensive post qualification experience, a working knowledge of the children act 1989 and will be required to undertake visits to children, young people and families as well as provide 'office' based support. They must hold a Degree in social work/DIP SW or equivalent, be registered with Social Work England and demonstrate evidence of post qualification learning and development.
The package includes pro rata annual leave entitlement, annual pay progression, line management and supervision.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.
