Pensions Technical and Training Support Officer

Role Responsibility

We are looking to recruit a KR9 Pensions Technical and Training Support Officer to help us with our work for Kent Pension Fund.  Please note that the primary location of the role is Invicta House, Maidstone, with the possibility of hybrid working (office and home working dependent on business needs). The position is advertised as permanent, full time (37 hours per week) and we also welcome applications from part-time applicants willing to work a minimum of 24 hours a week. This is a new role for our Pension Fund due to the strengthening of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) regulatory framework in recent years. The vacancy is within our established and successful Kent Pension Fund Technical Compliance & Training Team. We welcome both internal and external applications from candidates with a background in pensions and interest in the LGPS.

The role will be varied and you will need to be able to work with a range of both internal and external stakeholders that require technical support about our Pension Fund. You will test systems and research, deliver training, undertake complex pensions casework and be a first line of support for technical queries that come to the team. Please see attached job description for full details. More experienced LGPS candidates may also be interested in our other, more senior role also currently being advertised in a separate advert, KR11 Technical Compliance and Training Consultant. Please complete applications for both roles to be considered for both roles.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

As an employee of Kent County Council, you will receive excellent benefits, including 29 days annual leave, membership of the pension scheme and flexible working. We politely request that all applicants state their interest, skills and pensions experience (relevant to the job description) in their ‘Reason for Application’ section of their online application form.
