Role Responsibility

We are pleased to announce five vacancies for the post KR6 Pensions Administrator, within our large, highly respected Pensions Administration Section, Finance Division, Kent County Council (KCC). These posts are advertised as full-time, 37-hour a week, permanent posts, although part-time applications are also welcomed.  The team currently undertakes hybrid working at Invicta House, Maidstone, and it is expected that this role will require some office working as per business needs (eg. training, group working, project work, etc).

The Role

The role involves providing communications and information for pension scheme members and employers in the Pension Fund. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

The role requires experience of working in an office administration/customer service environment, and using a computerised administration system. Appointed candidates will gain experience in pensions administration, through undertaking a programme of comprehensive training. We expect a keen willingness to learn about the pension regulations, in respect of the Local Government, and Police Pension schemes. For full details, please see attached job description.

Application

Working for KCC offers fantastic training opportunities and benefits and full details are available on our KCC jobs website. We politely request that all applicants refer to the job description/person specification in their online ‘reason for application’ section, carefully explaining how their skills and experiences are suitable for the role. Interviews will be undertaken in-person, in Maidstone, Kent, throughout November 2022. Candidates shortlisted for interview will be required to undertake in-person assessment to assess their customer service skills. The closing date for applications is Thursday 6th October 2022. Please note that should a high number of suitable applications be received, the closing date may be brought forward.
