Participation Support Officer
Role Responsibility
The Virtual School Kent Participation Team has a vacancy for a full-time Participation Support Officer within Integrated Children’s Services.
The Participation Team has responsibilities to support and encourage meaningful participation and engagement of children and young people who are in care, young care leavers, or who come under other specified cohorts across Integrated Children’s Services.
This is an exciting role that will have a focus on young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities. The post holder will need to be able to support them to take part in the participatory opportunities that are available to them, as well as supporting the work of the Participation Team ensuring that young people’s views are embedded in Service design and delivery.
The role will also involve supporting the Participation Team’s Apprentices to ensure that they receive a high level of supervision and guidance to be successful in areas of their job role and apprenticeship qualification.
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
