Part Time Business Support Officer - SNTM Childrens Social Work Team

Role Responsibility

Looking for a varies role where no two days are quite the same?

We’re looking for an organised, proactive and approachable Business Support Officer to join our team supporting Children’s Services.

This is a busy and varied role where you’ll work alongside practitioners, providing the essential administrative and business support that helps them deliver services to children, young people and families.

If you're someone who enjoys keeping things organised, managing competing priorities and being part of a supportive team, this could be a great opportunity for you.

What will you be doing?

You’ll provide day-to-day administrative support to the team, including:

  • Monitoring and managing emails, information systems and electronic records
  • Being a point of contact for colleagues, partner agencies and members of the public
  • Keeping records and information accurate and up to date
  • Preparing documents and correspondence and keeping track of responses
  • Arranging and supporting meetings, recording key information and following up actions
  • Helping with systems and equipment for new and existing staff
  • Supporting managers with financial and procurement administration

What are we looking for?

You don’t need to know everything from day one. What’s really important is that you’re organised, reliable and comfortable working in a busy environment.

You’ll need:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise your workload
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records
  • Confidence in dealing with queries and finding solutions
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A Level 2 qualification in Administration or equivalent.

Why join us?

Business Support plays an important part in helping our Children's Services teams run effectively. You'll be joining a friendly service where your organisational skills, initiative and attention to detail will genuinely make a difference.

This role also offers a great working pattern for someone looking for part-time hours:

  • 22.2 hours over three days (Monday to Wednesday)
  • Hybrid working, normally one office day per week, with occasional additional office cover when required
  • 29 days' annual leave per year, pro rata (increasing to 30 days after 5 years)

If you’re organised, enjoy variety and want a role where the work you do helps support services for children and families across Kent, we’d love to hear from you.

Your application

We’d really like to hear why this opportunity interests you and what you feel you could bring to the role. Please make good use of the Reason for Application section, as this will be considered as part of our shortlisting process when deciding who to invite to interview.
