Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Role Responsibility

It’s an exciting time in the world of portfolio, programme and project management here in the Growth, Environment and Transport (GET) Directorate!  GET is home to a diverse range of services, including highways, transport and waste; environment, planning and enforcement; libraries, registration and archives; and economic development.

Portfolio, programme and project management plays a core role in the successful delivery of our work.  Over the past few years, we have gradually evolved our approach, creating a directorate-level portfolio and building a community of programme and project management practice and expertise across all our services.

We now want to move this to the next level to provide a centre of excellence and hub for change activity. Ultimately our objective is to invest in the right resources, focus on the right change activity that will deliver our strategic outcomes, and ensure delivery is to time, scope, cost and quality expectations.

The GET Portfolio Team has been thus been established comprising of programme and project management staff working on priority, high risk projects, as well as a PMO that works across the whole of the directorate.  The PMO provides the framework for managing and delivering programmes and projects with the necessary support, advice, guidance and assurance, with a particular focus on the development of robust business cases and funding bids.

The team is now looking for an experienced PMO Lead Officer to drive forward this exciting agenda.  The post is being offered on a KR11 grade (£39,812 to £45,589) and the job description and person specification is attached.

Applications are invited from interested professionals by Thursday 20th August 2020 and interviews will be held on 24th and 25th August 2020.  If you are shortlisted then expect to hear from us by close of play Friday 21st August 2020 (we will be asking shortlisted candidates to make a presentation, the details of which will be advised at that stage).

If you feel you have the necessary credentials and want to be at the forefront of making a real difference, then we’d love to hear from you.
