Open Access Service Manager

Role Responsibility

About the role:

We are seeking an outstanding manager to join an effective, high functioning management team who are committed to delivering outstanding services to children and young people. 

You will be directly accountable for practice standards within Kent Children’s Centres and Youth Hubs and to be responsible for planning, commissioning and delivering cost-effective services that work closely with Integrated Children’s Services.

You will work in collaboration with all key partners to ensure that children are safeguarded, and that services are delivered effectively and comply with legislation and national, Directorate and Corporate policies and procedures.

You will inspire a culture of excellence, direct the development, management and implementation of service delivery within a complex multi-agency business environment, undertaking needs analysis, to ensure that service provision is flexible, responsive, timely and delivered to the required legislative and policy frameworks.

You will be confident managing change in a politically sensitive environment, contributing to the strategic recruitment, training, development and retention of staff, ensuring effective staffing resource allocation across the District(s) to ensure flexible and responsive service delivery, taking into account demands on the service and compliance with Health and Safety policies and practices.

You will have significant management experience within Children’s Services and recognise the benefits of early intervention and community services.  You should be qualified to degree level with experience of writing reports and briefings. Experience of managing a complex budget and resources and a good understanding of external funding and understanding of commissioning or services to meet local needs.

As part of the interview process for this role you may be required to complete additional testing.
