Occupational Therapy Assessment Officer

Role Responsibility

We have an exciting opportunity to join our West Kent Occupational Therapy Service which delivers strengths based and person-centred occupational therapy Interventions.  As an Occupational Therapy Assessment Officer, you will work with the person, using functional assessments to identify the outcomes that most matter to them.  You will find creative solutions to enhance independence utilising equipment, adaptations, and techniques. The role will involve working in partnership with a variety of agencies including Health and Housing to ensure that people are supported in the most effective way to meet their needs and to improve their lives.

Kent County Council has excellent opportunities for training and development; you will receive a comprehensive induction and the support and training you need to feel confident and effective in your role, including supervision from a registered Occupational Therapist. We are hybrid working between the office base, community, and home; therefore, a flexible working approach is required. Provision of technology and equipment to work from all locations will be provided.

  • 37 hours (1 FTE) within our Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley OT Team, based at the Civic Centre, Gravesend. This covers Dartford, Gravesend and Swanley areas.

Occasionally you will be expected to work outside normal office hours to optimise outcomes for service users and provide a responsive, seamless, multi-disciplinary approach.

This role is subject to holding a Full UK Driving Licence – The Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments so whilst this job requires the jobholder to drive your application will still be considered if you are unable to drive due to a disability.
