Locality Organiser - Kent Enablement at Home

Role Responsibility

Kent Enablement at Home (KEaH) provide domiciliary-based short term enablement service across Kent. We are looking to recruit a Locality Organiser to work in a busy role managing the delivery of the in-house enablement services to people in their own homes.

This post is based at St Peters House for our Dover Kent Enablement at Home team and is vital, to ensuring that the busy team can support as many adults as possible with short term enablement services in the community.

We are looking for motivated and proactive people, who want to make a difference to the community, within a team that work collaboratively with internal and external partners and focuses on promoting independence for the people we support. The successful applicant also needs to be flexible in their approach and ready to embrace new ways of working to help further shape our services.

The role requires you to manage a caseload of people we support requiring domiciliary services (including enablement/assessment provision) to the people we support establishing SMART Enablement goals in identifying the correct level of need and the outcomes required, and to enable the people we support to maintain their independence.

The Locality Organiser is responsible for:

  • The line management of a large diverse team of Enablement Supervisors and Enablement Support Workers, and all HR requirements for these team members.
  • Maintaining high level quality service and compliance with our Regulator, the Care Quality Commission regulations and standards. 
  • Ensure that the team comply with the Kent and Medway Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults policy
  • Delivering a fast moving enablement service ensuring that work rosters are maintained to meet service user needs
  • Ensure support plans for people with support needs are implemented and regularly reviewed.
  • Recruitment, training and development of staff with varying skill sets
  • Responsible for day to day Health and Safety aspects of the service.

The successful candidate requires excellent communication skills both verbal and written and good IT literacy as the post involves daily use of computerised systems.

A Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 5 is required or the willingness to work towards it.

Previous experience of enablement or domiciliary based services and the requirements under the Care Act 2014 would be beneficial.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
