An interesting and diverse opportunity has arisen for an administration apprentice to join our innovative and collaborative Business Support team within Integrated Children’s Services, based in North Kent. This apprenticeship offers you the opportunity to earn a salary and obtain a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification in Business Administration whilst working for a large, diverse, rapidly changing organisation, and gaining valuable workplace skills and experience. 

Integrated Children’s Services provides a wide range of support to the families, young people and children of Kent and includes services such as Children’s Social Work, Children in Care, Early Help and Open Access, Fostering, Adoption, Safeguarding and Care Leavers.

As an Administration Apprentice you will learn how to deliver a comprehensive range of administrative functions, working across the different services and teams that support Integrated Children’s Services. The role will be based across locations in North Kent dependant on the service and role; initial placements are likely to based in hub centres across the Dartford, Gravesham and Swale districts. Locations for these initial placements are flexible dependent on travel requirements.

You will work alongside experienced colleagues who will support your learning and development. You will be given a variety of opportunities to build your portfolio of work and experience in line with your accredited learning and gain valuable experience and skills across all aspects of business administration.

We are looking for individuals with a can-do attitude who are motivated and keen to learn. Whilst we do have some minimum criteria outlined on the Job Description, we are more interested in your potential and would love to hear from you whatever your current level of experience. 

Starting salary of £14,952 per annum which is equivalent to £7.75 per hour. Upon successful completion of the probation period, your salary will increase to £21,293 per annum

Group selection events will take place in the week commencing 7th August in Maidstone; successful candidates will then be invited to a short panel interview later in the week.

As this post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
