Role Responsibility

An exciting role has become available to lead the Childminding Team in its work with potential and registered childminders. The Childminding Team sits within the Early Years and Childcare Service of The Education People.

Tasks will be varied, from co-ordinating activities in line with the delivery of the childminding elements of the local authority contract specifications, to leading the team to develop and deliver a programme of training specifically to support childminders’ continuous professional development.

The post requires someone with experience of working in the childcare sector, of leading a team and of developing, delivering and monitoring training.

A good understanding of Ofsted inspection requirements and processes, the EYFS Framework, legislation and guidance relevant to early years and childcare practice and knowledge of the Early Education and Childcare Entitlement is key.

Necessary skills and abilities include analysing data, information and statistics and using results to inform future practice, judging practice against Ofsted grade descriptors, strong written and oral communication skills and prioritising work in a busy and changing environment.

Please consult the job description and person specification for more details.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is currently virtual with some visits to area offices and childminding settings in line with government guidance.

Interviews will take place on Thursday 10 February 2022 and will be conducted virtually on an online platform.
