Kent HoldCo Executive Business Support Officer

Role Responsibility

Kent HoldCo Limited was incorporated in December 2018 to manage, direct and govern Kent County Council’s (KCC) portfolio of trading companies, which employ over 1,700 people. HoldCo’s mission is  to manage, direct and govern the portfolio of trading companies (LATCOs) so as to safeguard the delivery of public services in Kent at the lowest possible cost to KCC and local taxpayers, to engage SMEs and employ more people and make a positive contribution to the wider economy of Kent, to maximise the sustainable performance of the individual businesses and to maximise long-term financial returns for the Authority.  

Kent HoldCo Limited is looking to recruit an Executive Business Support Officer to support the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and wider Executive Team. We are a small team in the Holding Company, working closely with Kent County Council’s Group of Local Authority Trading Companies (LATCos). 
 
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with excellent administrative and organisation skills, who is proactive in supporting the Executive and able to prioritise work to meet tight deadlines. You will need to be flexible and innovative, bringing a range of skills and experience to this team. We are looking for someone who possesses excellent IT and communication skills. You will be required to deal with highly sensitive and confidential information, take formal minutes at meetings and be able to resolve day-to-day administrative queries in a timely way. This is a challenging, varied and exciting role that requires you to multitask whilst working under pressure. 
 
You will support with Board and Sub-Committee meetings and this role is central to the effective support of the Board of Directors. You will liaise with a wide variety of staff both within the Companies and KCC itself. You will also have a key role in supporting the Group Finance Director to collate and extract key information for risk management reports to the Audit and Risk Committee. 

You will be mostly based in our Maidstone office. Meetings are often held in different sites across the County, so the ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential. 
 

The successful applicant will be appointed on the Terms and Conditions of a Company within the Kent HoldCo Group.
