Kent Graduate Programme Procurement Trainee

Role Responsibility

This is a superb opportunity for commercially-minded graduates to join our Procurement and Commercial Team and support us as we carry out procurement process projects throughout our organisation. You’ll participate in the programme for two years, completing a series of projects in order to obtain a broad range of experience, knowledge and skills. Projects will involve progressive responsibility and accountability and cover a wide range of areas including Growth and Communities, Environment and Waste, Highways and Transportation, Property, Facilities Management, Finance, HR and ICT.

The programme places a strong emphasis on personal and professional development, focusing on the knowledge, skills and attributes required by procurement professionals in the Council. You’ll have the opportunity to complete the internationally recognised Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Level 4 apprenticeship while building strong professional relationships with colleagues, team members and internal clients.

About You

To be a success in this role, you’ll have a 2:1 degree or its equivalent in any subject, good GCSE passes in Maths and English, and proven experience of delivering projects to tight deadlines. We’ll look for excellent teamworking, communication and problem-solving skills, while your confidence and motivation will allow you to deliver results in a fast-paced and complex working environment. A good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of software is essential, and you should be ready to work effectively from home and travel into our offices when required.
