Kent Country Parks Business and Communications Support Officer

Role Responsibility

Based at Invicta House but including travel and working from Country Parks

Fixed Term until 6th June 2025, 22.2 hours per week - Working Mon, Tues and Weds

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Kent Country Parks (KCP) in a job share role Business Support and Communication Officer.  Your office base will be Invicta and working out of Country Parks including Shorne Woods Country Park, Lullingstone Country Park and Trosley with flexible working. 

Working under the line management of the Communication and Engagement Manager and helping support an apprentice Business Support Officer this team supports the management of 9 Country Parks with over 1 million visitors per year.

Key responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Act as a main point of contact for the customers contacting Kent Country Parks, providing excellent customers service.
  • Support the day to day clerical and administrative functions of the team/service, in addition to the monitoring of emails, social media posts and telephone messages
  • Arrange and coordinate appointments and meetings on behalf of the manager and other staff and taking minutes where required.
  • Process, maintain and monitor financial records relating to expenditure and income
  • Maintain systems and processes to ensure systems linked to the service (e.g. customer enquiries, complaints, key performance indicators, service vehicles, H&S, education/team building/venue hire bookings) are managed effectively and efficiently.
  • To support and produce a range of templates, publications and materials supporting external communications, marketing and business support management functions.
  • Supporting the delivery of the marketing plan through a range of tactics including traditional media, print, digital (website, Facebook, Twitter), promotional material, events, stakeholder engagement and e-CRM.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
