We are looking for an Intelligence Services Apprentice to join our Intelligence & Data team within Growth & Communities.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain practical experience while completing a Level 3 Public Service Operational Delivery Officer apprenticeship.
About the role
As an Intelligence Services Apprentice, you will play an important part in supporting the delivery of intelligence services. You will be responsible for ensuring intelligence is recorded accurately, securely and in a timely way, helping to create clear links between people, vehicles and other entities within intelligence systems.
This role offers a valuable introduction to intelligence work within a public service environment, with structured training, support and development throughout the 18 month apprenticeship.
What you’ll be doing
- Accurately inputting intelligence into intelligence databases to a high standard
- Ensuring intelligence is processed and recorded in a timely manner
- Identifying and updating objects such as people and vehicles within intelligence reports
- Sharing intelligence internally and externally in line with agreed processes
- Supporting the wider team with tasks that help deliver intelligence services
- Working in line with prescribed processes and maintaining high standards of accuracy
- Developing your understanding of data protection and information sharing
- Gaining insight into the importance of intelligence work and the risks associated with it
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone who is motivated, reliable and keen to learn.
You will have:
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to work effectively with supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage and prioritise tasks
- An understanding of the importance of accurate data entry
Experience of using databases would be an advantage, but is not essential.
There are no minimum entry requirements for Maths and English, as Functional Skills can be completed as part of the apprenticeship.
Vetting and security requirements
This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
and a Non‑Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) Level 2.
Appointment will be dependent on successful completion of the required vetting and security checks. Support and guidance will be provided throughout the vetting process.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
