Infection Prevention Control Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, intrepid registered nurse working in the care sector to join our team supporting Care Settings (domiciliary care, other non-NHS care providers and care homes,) in Kent.
Kent has an estimated population of 1,581,600 with approximately 480 residential care homes, 119 nursing homes plus domiciliary care providers totalling approximately 850 registered providers.
You will utilise and further develop your infection prevention and control (IPC) skills, experience, and knowledge within a Multi-Disciplinary Team influencing best practice for clients in their own homes receiving Domiciliary Care and for residents in Nursing and Residential Care Homes. You will be required to be adaptable with excellent interpersonal and communication skills for dynamic, changing situations.
Proactive place-based locality working has enabled the care system to be supported where there has been exposure to or outbreak of Covid cases in the residential care sector. Identification and provision of the specialist infection control advice needs to be more seamless and accessible which these posts will lead targeting support to domiciliary care initially.
You will advise, support, and oversee infection prevention and control in relation to the management of outbreaks in all care settings, working collaboratively with, and supported by the infection control leads within the CCG, the director or consultant in Public Health and guidance with the hospital trust Infection prevention teams. You will be part of the Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group and the evolving Integrated Care System.
