Imports Compliance Officer
Role Responsibility
Kent Trading Standards are seeking self-motivated individuals to join the Ports Compliance Team based in Dover and working remotely from home.
As a Compliance Officer, you will focus primarily on helping to determine if imported goods comply with relevant safety legislation and are safe to enter the United Kingdom to be used by consumers.
You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and have the ability to problem solve. Along with having an enquiring mind, you must also have an attention to detail and work both independently and within a team environment. As this role is part of the UK Border Controls, collaborative working is an essential requirement.
You need to be flexible and be able to objectively assess and prioritise your workload. You must also demonstrate a willingness to actively engage in the work of the unit including supporting colleagues to ensure that deadlines are met.
You may also be required to work at other locations to meet the needs of the service. The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential.
You will receive full training for the job, and will be expected to apply this knowledge effectively in their everyday role.
