Highway Engineer

Role Responsibility

This is a job opportunity within the Highway Operations team for a Highway Engineer working in the Dartford and Gravesham Districts. This is a full-time role based at Swanley Highway Depot with hybrid working arrangements in place.

As a Highway Engineer you will use your highway construction knowledge to provide technical advice and support to: those in the Operational Team, colleagues in other KCC teams, officers of Dartford and Gravesham Borough Council and to other customers.

It is essential that you can: demonstrate good Customer Care skills, prioritise your own workload, be methodical in your approach, and operate with a minimum level of supervision.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
