Health and Safety Adviser

Role Responsibility

Are you interested in working within a busy Health and Safety Team committed to continuous improvement and supporting positive Health and Safety management systems and culture across a large organisation?

We are looking for a professional, high performing Health and Safety Adviser to join our busy Health and Safety Team providing an excellent advisory service to all the functions of the County Council. 

You will provide a professional and efficient health and safety support service covering areas of health and safety management including supporting policy development, risk assessments, inspections/audits, and investigations for example.

The role will often be demanding, and you need to be able to juggle competing demands and be self-motivated. Experience of health and safety management and providing advice within a multi-disciplined environment, strong communication skills and project management skills are essential.

You must hold or work towards a NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent).  Experience of strong IT skills e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, data analysis is also essential.  Ability to travel is a key requirement to the role also due to travelling across the county. 

If you have in-depth knowledge and experience of health and safety and an ability to engage, influence and persuade at all levels then we want to hear from you. 

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Interviews will be competency based and candidates may be asked to do a presentation.
