Handyperson

Windchimes offers overnight residential opportunities for disabled children from the age of 5 to 18 years old. 

We are seeking an enthusiastic Handyperson for 35 hours per week to maintain the building and grounds to a high standard.

You will be required to undertake tasks such as painting and decorating, maintaining the fixtures and fittings of the building, gardening, and undertaking relevant checks in line with Health and Safety requirements. 

Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations including COSHH, Infection Control, safeguarding would be an advantage, however full training will be given during induction period and other relevant training will be undertaken as required. 

You will possess a sound knowledge of how to use a wide range of basic tools and equipment, however training can be provided.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification. 

Interviews will be conducted under the ‘Choosing with Care’ assessment process.

This post involves working closely with children and is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
