This is an opportunity to join our Major Capital Programme Team and support the management, monitoring and delivery of a programme of large highway infrastructure schemes that are necessary to accelerate growth within the county. Working to ensure the key stages in the project’s lifecycle are followed, you’ll also see that all programme documentation is auditable and systems are in place to ensure schemes can be evaluated against their objectives.

Your other responsibilities will be many and varied and include the completion of the monitoring and evaluation reports, assisting with the gathering, sorting and presenting of data, and providing general financial support to the team. Always ready to deliver high-quality customer service and prompt investigation and response to complaints and queries raised by staff, customers and members, you’ll also ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and complete any appropriate training.

About You

Excellent teamworking skills are essential, as is the ability to build effective working relationships. You should have experience of gathering, organising and analysing data, and be capable of communicating confidently both verbally and in writing to a varied audience.

We’ll look for expertise in the leading or supporting of projects obtained in an academic or work environment, and in addition to being a methodical, organised worker, you should possess excellent attention to detail. A willingness to work towards an Associate Project Manager apprenticeship is essential. Capable of working under pressure and prioritising your tasks, you should also have good IT skills, especially in the use of the Microsoft software.

At Kent County Council we have a number of values that enable us to build a flexible, compassionate, inclusive and empowering culture. We’re dedicated to working together as we deliver for the best interests of our county, and are focused on putting our residents, families and communities at the heart of decision making. If you believe in these values and are ready to make a positive contribution to our work, we want to hear from you.
