GIS Landscape Technician
Role Responsibility
An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to play a key role within the Highways & Transportation Section’s Soft Landscape Team. This technical role will cover all aspects of information management for the highway landscape asset through organising its collection by the soft landscape team, updating when amendments are needed and the distribution of this information to contractors, colleagues and stakeholders in a variety of forms and platforms including Arc GIS, AGOL and WAMS.
You will need to demonstrate good computer literacy skills and a strong background in GIS with experience of using it to provide asset and mapping support to front line staff. A knowledge of landscape maintenance and how this is carried out would be an advantage as well as applying GIS in a landscape context. However, we will also consider a recent graduate seeking to establish themselves within the industry.
You will need to be able to work both independently and as part of a wider team. The role will be based in either of our East or West depots but the ability to travel across the County to confirm assets will also be required.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
Interview date(s): Week commencing 22nd March 2021
