Front Door Officer

Role Responsibility

We are currently seeking to recruit a part time (0.5 FTE)  Front Door Officer in the Front Door Service.

Working days will be Wednesday PM, Thursday and Friday.

The Role of a Front Door Officer is key within our service.  Working in a team led by a Team Managers, supported by Senior Practitioners and Experienced Social Workers this role entails the gathering, recording and analysis of information from a range of sources to contribute to decision making so that children and their families receive support at the most appropriate level.

Information and enquiries are received from the public, district teams and partner agencies, therefore the role requires the post holder to be professional and efficient in their responses, with excellent communication skills, IT skills and the ability to manage and respond to challenging situations should they arise.

Applicants should be educated to GCSE level or equivalent and ideally have experience of working in a social care or children’s education setting. The role is ideal for those who wish to expand their experience and knowledge of children’s safeguarding services.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
