Fostering Social Worker

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Role Responsibility

This is an exciting time to join the Kent Fostering Service and due to a number of new opportunities being offered across Kent, we are recruiting social workers to join our enhanced Kinship Support Team. This opportunity is being offered as part of the Service’s commitment to building on the support being offered to friends and family foster carers.

This team provides the support, supervision and training our KCC Connected Persons Foster Carers and their families need to enable them to provide the best possible trauma informed care to the children and young people they care for.

As a Fostering Social Worker in the team, you will play a key role in supporting Connected Persons foster carers and the children they look after to thrive. With the support of regular supervision from the Team Manager, you will build relationships with fostering families and children, provide effective supervision, advice and guidance and complete reports for the fostering panels to ensure children are safeguarded. You will work closely with the team around the child to facilitate effective service delivery and safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

We will be offering caseloads within this team which will make sure that the complex support these families need is achievable. This means more time to deliver person-centred care and achieve the best possible outcomes.

Benefits and Rewards

As a member of staff you will have access to a competitive range of benefits, including:

  • Performance related pay increase
  • The option to enrol into the excellent Local Government Pension Scheme
  • A generous holiday entitlement + bank holidays
  • A range of leave options to help you manage your work / life balance
  • Flexible working – work from home and office as required and we will provide you with the kit needed to work remotely.
  • Sickness provision
  • Ability to buy annual leave
  • Training and career development opportunities
  • Access to a range of local and national discounts and cashback through our Kent Rewards website.
