Due to a number of new opportunities being offered across Kent Fostering Service, we are recruiting Social Workers to join our expanding Kinship Support Team. These are new opportunities being offered as part of the service’s commitment to building on the support on offer to friends and family member carers.

The Kinship Fostering Support Team provides support, supervision and training to our KCC Connected Persons Foster Carers and their families to enable them to provide the best possible trauma informed care to the children and young people they care for.

As a Fostering Social Worker in the team, you will play a key role in supporting Kinship Foster Carers and the children they look after to thrive. With the support of regular supervision from the Team Manager, you will need to build relationships with fostering families and children, providing effective supervision, advice and guidance. You will work closely with the team around the child to facilitate effective service delivery and safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

We will be offering lower caseloads within this team to ensure that the complex support these families need is achievable. This means more time to deliver person-centred care and achieve the best possible outcomes.

This is a countywide team so we will be using a hybrid model of working and office base will be negotiable.

As a member of staff you will have access to a competitive range of benefits, including:

  • Performance related pay increase
  • The option to enrol into the excellent Local Government Pension Scheme
  • A generous holiday entitlement + bank holidays
  • A range of leave options to help you manage your work / life balance
  • Flexible working – work from home and office as required and we will provide you with the kit needed to work remotely

  • Training and career development opportunities
