Fostering Senior Practitioner

Role Responsibility

Make a difference in children’s lives as a Senior Practitioner with Kent Fostering. Based at St Peter’s House in Broadstairs, this part-time, permanent role offers a competitive salary, retention and car payments. You’ll join a passionate, forward-thinking team in East Kent, focused on strengthening our foster carer community and improving outcomes for children in care- including those with disabilities.

In this key role, you’ll provide expert supervision, training, and emotional support to foster carers and their families, helping them understand and respond to the complex needs of the children they care for. You’ll also work alongside fostering assessment teams to recruit and retain carers.  In addition, you will play a key role in mentoring and supporting less experienced colleagues and social work students—sharing your knowledge to help shape the next generation of practitioners.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.

If you're ready to lead with empathy, expertise, and a commitment to making a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.
