Family Hub Community Development Worker - Part Time
Role Responsibility
Family Hubs are part of Kent County Council’s offer to support to children and young people, aged 0-19 (25 SEND), and their families.
Family Hubs are a place where the whole family can access advice, support and guidance.
Our local Family Hubs offer a broad and integrated range of early help services for families, which include midwifery, health visiting, parenting support and activities for children and young people.
We have 56 Family Hubs across Kent, where we operate alongside our partners to support local communities.
Kent County Council is actively seeking to recruit passionate Family Hub Community Development Workers for multiple districts across Kent.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a Family Hub Tonbridge & Malling District team in Kent and help build and expand the offer of services for children, young people and families from 0-19 (25 years for SEND).
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Building and strengthening local Family Hub networks in collaboration with partners and community organisations.
- Encouraging community engagement and co-design initiatives to develop and inform the Family Hub services.
- Expanding volunteer opportunities to empower parents, carers, and young people to lead and participate in peer-to-peer groups and other Family Hub activities.
We value skills that foster community empowerment, address in-equalities, and encourage active participation.
The successful candidates for this role would possess a high level of organisational skills and have the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and self-directed. You will also be able to communicate effectively with children and their families, and have the ability to plan, deliver and evaluate effective participation and engagement opportunities.
The Community Development Worker role will be a permanent, part-time role (Weds pm, all day Thursday and Friday), with some hybrid working available.
