Family Group Conference Team Manager

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a  Family Group Conference Team Manager post for South East Kent, Social Connections Service.  The successful candidate would be part of a robust and experienced team who facilitate Family Group Decision Making for families where children are involved with Children's Services.

Whilst the team covers the whole of South East Kent the office base is in  Whitstable, Kent. The role is to manage a team of FGC coordinators, and Family Network SWAs . There are also opportunities to run training sessions and practice forums. The role is diverse and creative, in terms of running family led meetings for each unique family

Applicants need to have NVQ Level 4 or above in relevant field such as Social Work, teaching, mediation, youth work etc. and have varied experience of working with children and families at times of distress and conflict. You will have experience of convening FGCs in a variety of settings.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
