Family Enablement Worker

Role Responsibility

We are recruiting for our team of Family Enablement Workers into the Kent Enablement and Prevention Service. Be at the cutting edge of a work force that’s changing the lives of children and young people for the better.

This isn’t just a job, this a chance to make a difference, and you will also be supported with development opportunities. You will hold a recognised qualification in Positive Behavioural Support or equivalent.

You will undertake time-limited, outcomes-focused work with Children, Young People and their families and support them to continue to care for their Child or Young person within the family or home. You will promote real, lasting change within families and support Young People as they prepare to become adults and in their early adult life. You will work under the direction of the Lead Co-ordinators of the service and work alongside other professionals.

You will be working in a new and innovative service with Children, Young People and their families to promote and enable:

  • an enhanced level of support using the PBS framework
  • identified professionals and colleagues by coaching and upskilling as required ensuring a comprehensive and flexible approach to PBS framework.
  • early intervention to develop and implement PBS strategies to enhance quality of life
  • intensive and bespoke work to prevent home life and educational breakdown
  • development of independence and social skills
  • delivery of time-limited outcome focused interventions, celebrating successes and equipping children and young people with the tools to meet challenges.
  • being there at key times in the lives of children and young people to make a tangible, positive difference.
  • children and young people to better understand their own mental health and wellbeing

You will need to be able to work flexibly, including evening and weekend work, to fit in with families’ availability. Opportunities are available the North west Kent area.

You will receive support and training for the role, so this will give great opportunities for your own development.  This is opportunity to be there at the moment it matters.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position.
