Family Enablement Lead Coordinator for Kent Enablement and Prevention Service - West Kent

We are recruiting a Lead Coordinator into the Kent Enablement and Prevention Team. Be at the cutting edge of a work force that’s changing the lives of children and young people for the better.

This isn’t just a job, this is a chance to make a difference, and you will also be supported with development opportunities. You will hold a recognised qualification in Positive Behavioural Support or equivalent.

Under the direction of the service managers you will coordinate the Family Enablement Workers in the East or West of the County. You will be responsible for the day to day management of the Kent Enablement & Prevention Service (KEPS).  You will co-ordinate the resources and work collaboratively to ensure the service consistently achieves the identified outcomes in accordance with the Business Plan.

You will also undertake time-limited, outcomes-focused work with Children or Young People and their families and support them to continue to care for their Child or Young person within the family or home. You will promote real, lasting change within families and support Young People as they prepare to become adults and in their early adult life. You will work under the direction of the Lead Co-ordinators of the service, working in conjunction with the Early Help work force.

You will be working in a new and innovative service with Children, Young People and their families to promote and enable:

  • Staff in supervision, motivation, recruitment and development, furthermore, to provide an effective staff group capable of meeting the change needs of children and young people.
  • effective partnership working to support the identified needs of children, young people and their families within the KEPS procedural framework
  • Identify and action any safeguarding and welfare issues in line with KCC policy and procedures to ensure that the child / young person’s rights and freedoms are protected, and that quality and standards of services provided are maintained. 
  • efficient and effective monitoring and control systems are maintained in accordance with Financial/Human Resources and Health and Safety Directorate regulations. Provide regular reports as identified by the KEPS Services Manager 
  • early intervention to develop and implement Positive Behaviour Support strategies to enhance quality of life
  • intensive and bespoke work to prevent children and young people having to leave their family home or school placement breakdown
  • the development of independence and social skills
  • delivery of time-limited outcome focused interventions, celebrating successes and equipping children and young people with the tools to meet challenges.
  • Be being there at key times in the lives of children and young people to make a tangible, positive difference.
  • Children and young people with better understanding of their own mental health and wellbeing

You will need to be able to work flexibly, including evening and weekend work, to fit in with families’ availability. Opportunities are available across the county, please specify within your application, which area of Kent you’d prefer to be based at.
